Our buddies at Bailey Rd School
On Wednesday 5th October 10 children from Kids with aView travelled to
visit the Year 8's in Room 13 at Bailey Road School in Mt Wellington.
Room 8 are our blogging buddies. Even though they are much older than us they enjoy
visiting our blog and leaving us some awesomely written comments.
The Room 3 children weren't even feeling nervous
about finally meeting their blogging buddies they were just very excited!
WHAT AN AWESOME MORNING WE HAD!
WHAT A WONDERFUL WAY TO MAKE AUTHENTIC CONNECTIONS.
The Room 13 buddies were amazing so welcoming, helpful and patient.
We all looked at each others blogs, made some comments and got to know each other.
The interaction were wonderful moments to watch.
We were also introduced to some more new buddies - Room 2 a Year 1 class.
Now we had 3 new buddies each!
At morning teatime all the children shared a yummy morning tea and went
off to play on the playground.
After morning tea the Bailey Road buddies showed us around their
art exhibition - it was artrageous!
There are so many talented children at Bailey Road.
Thank you so much for our enjoyable visit.

What is a Blog?
Gina - 5 years old, explains in her words what a blog is.
Room 3 children can you please
add a comment explaining what you think a blog is.
Or
You can use Voice Memo on the ipods to record your answer.
Please email it to me when you have finished your recording.
You can also find Gina's video on the Comments4kids blog.
Comments for kids is a way for students and teachers to find blogs to comment on to get their own posts commented on.
We think this is a great honour - well done Gina!

10,000 party - Watch the video
On Friday we had a 10,000 party. Anya’s dad brought a giant balloon and some ice-blocks. We had music and everyone brought some food. At our tables we had party blowers and we made party hats. We had 10,000 people visit our blog. Room 8 made us a piñata and we hit the piñata and all the lollies came out.

Did you know what my classroom did on Friday? We had a 10,000 party and when we had it we had music. It was like a disco! Do you know why we had it? It was because we had 10,000 visitors to our blog! Do you know who it was for? It was for kids! I liked the piñata because it had lollies in it.

I see... I think.... I wonder....
I see a caterpillar spinning a cocoon around him. He will turn into a butterfly that drinks nectar. I think the caterpillar is going to be a butterfly soon. The caterpillar grows wings inside the cocoon. I wonder how the butterfly flies to the flower to have a drink? By Krishant
I see a caterpillar change into a chrysalis. A chrysalis turns into a butterfly. I think the caterpillar will turn into a beautiful butterfly. I wonder why he is yellow, black and white? By Tiffanny
I see a caterpillar hanging onto a branch. I can see the caterpillar turning into a cocoon and I see some green things on the chrysalis. I think the caterpillar is ready to almost pop out of the chrysalis. I wonder how butterflies drink nectar from flowers? By Benny
I see the caterpillar spinning a chrysalis. I think it's going to be slow. I wonder when it's going to come out? By Rohan
I see the caterpillar turning into a J shape. I think the caterpillar comes out after two weeks. I wonder how the caterpillar comes out of the chrysalis? By Gina
