Animal Pattern Art - Camouflage and Mimicry

Last term we learnt how animal patterns help animals survive.
We also visited the Auckland Zoo to see animals in their habitats.
Lots of the animals were camouflaged or used mimicry in their environments.
Check out this slideshow we found online.

Hi Mrs Laburn its me Jacey.
I loved making the animal patterns because I liked tracing and dying my animal.
It took me a lot of time to draw a zebra and it looked quite nice.
It took me a few days to finish my pattern.

4 weeks ago we drew animal patterns on a paper then we dyed our patterns on the paper and waited for it to dry. Then Mrs Laburn stapled our papers on to a big black paper and hung it up on the window. There is an animal in the middle and drew a circle around the animal. Then we drew pattern around the animal.

WOW Room 3! What fabulous artists you are. We loved looking at your beautiful animals. We liked guessing the different animal patterns. You must of looked really hard at all of the animals. Did you sketch them so you could remember what they looked like?
